Cet article explore la question de la transmission d’un trauma collectif originaire à travers la résurgence de ses scories, déclenchée par un événement traumatogène actuel. Ce mécanisme de figuration d’une histoire refoulée a été observé au cours d’une intervention humanitaire pendant l’épidémie de choléra en Haïti en octobre 2010. Faisant suite au séisme de janvier 2010, cette seconde crise humanitaire a constitué un événement particulièrement désorganisateur pour la communauté haïtienne et pour les acteurs humanitaires présents. Elle a réactivé le trauma originaire à travers une convergence de réverbérations traumatiques reproduisant, sur la scène psychique, l’époque de l’esclavagisme en Haïti.

Figuration of Haiti’s native collective history through its traumatic reverberation
This article explores the transmission of an archaic collective trauma through the reactivation of its scoria by a current traumatic event. The resurgence of a repressed collective history has been observed within the frame of an emergency humanitarian intervention held after the cholera outbreak in Haiti in October 2010. Following the earthquake of January 2010, this second humanitarian crisis has been experienced as a particularly disorganizing event by both the Haitian community and the relief actors. Reactivating the original trauma, this “cholera crisis” favors the reappearance of residual representations which reconstructs, on the psychological scene, the era of slavery in Haiti.
